Jeden kmen působí na hudební scéně od roku 2016. Současnou tvorbu hudební skupiny Jeden kmen lze popsat jako tribální hudbu s prvky folku, world music, elektroniky a ambientu, která je úzce navázaná na vlastní autorské texty a vizuální umění. Zprostředkovává posluchačům pestrou paletu příběhů, od těch s folklórními a mytologickými motivy až po fantaskní vyprávění.
Na počátku vzniku hudebního uskupení Jeden kmen, stál fotografický fantasy projekt mapující život skřetího kmene. K fotografické práci se později připojily další umělecké složky jako ilustrace, literární tvorba nebo právě vlastní hudba, které původní projekt doplňovaly. Toto tvůrčí období bylo přetaveno do výstavy „Jeden kmen”, která se konala v roce 2017 v Muzeu města Brna na hradě Špilberku a byla podpořena stejnojmenným festivalem. První album kapely s názvem „Mlha“, které vyšlo ve vlastním nákladu, je tak organickou součástí původního projektu a zároveň funguje i jako soundtrack knihy „Příběh jednoho kmene”.
Po uzavření této kapitoly se kapela věnuje další vlastní tvorbě nezávislé na původním projektu. Což bylo potvrzeno na podzim roku 2022, kdy pod nakladatelstvím Epidemie records vyšlo druhé řadové album „Basnj”, které je oproti prvnímu albu výrazně melodičtější se silnou inspirací ve slovanském folkloru. Toto album vypráví příběh o zajetí paní Zimy slunečními bratry a o krušné cestě za jejím vysvobozením. I jako v prvním případě také tentokrát vznikla nejdříve literární předloha a pak album samotné.
Jeden kmen (the name means “One Tribe” in EN) has been on the music scene since 2016. The current work of the band Jeden kmen can be described as tribal music with elements of folk, world music, electronic and ambient, which is closely tied to their own original lyrics and visual art. It conveys to listeners a diverse range of stories, from those with folkloric and mythological motifs to fantasy narratives.
At the beginning of the creation of the musical group Jeden kmen, there was a photographic fantasy project mapping the life of an orc tribe. The photographic work was later joined by other artistic components such as illustrations, literary work or just the music itself, which complemented the original project. This creative period was translated into the exhibition “Jeden kmen”, which took place in 2017 at the Brno City Museum at Špilberk Castle and was supported by the festival of the same name. The band’s first self-released album “Mlha” is thus an organic part of the original project and also functions as the soundtrack of the book “Příběh jednoho kmene” (The Story of One Tribe).
After the conclusion of this chapter, the band devotes itself to further work independent of the original project. This was confirmed in the autumn of 2022, when the second full-length album “Basnj” was released under the Epidemie records label, which is significantly more melodic compared to the first album with strong inspiration in Slavic folklore. This album tells the story of the captivity of Mrs. Zima by the Sun Brothers and the bloody journey to her liberation. As in the first case, the literary draft was created first and then the album itself.
